Pros

01. Compensation is 10%-20% better than most big named offshore based consulting companies. 02. If you are willing to grow, and you have the capabilities in general you can go up the ladder without issues [Deteriorating] 03. Mostly you have access to upper level management if required [Deteriorating] 04. Very good company for the first time US/UK assignees 05. Level of transparency and good working culture, integrity [Deteriorating] 06. Very rarely walk away from a customer delivery issue regardless the contractual commitment or financial benefits

Cons

01. Company is losing its core values and purpose to exist and becoming just another IT commodity company 02. People focus is going down rapidly. The HR division is nothing but just to run payrolls. Extremely poor competent HR team from top to bottom. They are just coordinator team of the Delivery Organization. 03. Wrong hires at upper level bring their own corrupted values and toxic the excellent culture we used to have 10-15 years ago. 04. Increasing favoritism across all sections of the company from operation to delivery. 05. Very less focus on people development compare to its past. People becoming a commodity for the company and not the greatest assert what used to be

Pros

Not much that I can think of except good Leave/Vacation policies and large client base. Occasionally some good training materials are available for use.

Cons

Plenty of cons.See below - 1. Below average pay in the US and expects you to work for same wage for years together. Such a shameless company that it wont even bother market conditions such that associates also get salary at par with market standards. If market is paying 100K Virtusa will try to squeeze you for 70-75K and never give any substantial raise. Nice example of how to lower the wage floor level can be learnt from this company. 2. Unprofessional colleagues and senior managers. Tamil/Telugu nepotism at best that destroys work culture even at client sites. 3. Virtusa salivates at the thought of money. It will have no shame in asking client to increase billing rates without letting those extra earns or even some portion of it to percolate to the associates who deserve that raise as the client is only keeping virtusa because of such rewarding associates. Thankless senior management 4. Immigration team is weak and so is the HR and Finance staff. Badly managed 5. Bodyshopping mongers who pretend to be a US company and yet keep day dreaming of competing with India's Infosys, TCS, HCL etc

Pros

None. There is nothing to mention here. A useless place struggling to survive with poor technical folks all around. All good engineers leave immediately and people with zero technical acumen are being promoted discouraging average employees to work hard or improve on their skillset. No incentives there

Cons

Oh boy, where do I start. Let me try to put it in bullet points for people to understand. (1)The biggest challenge with Virtusa is that its management doesn’t care about its employees. As a Technical person stay away from this company. There is zero growth, no control over project allocation, you will be treated very poorly and consistently bullied by entry level RM employees who somehow are treated as Gods in this company (2) It doesnt matter which technology you belong to. Most of the RM team, managers do not understand anything about technology. You will be forced into projects without your skillset matching with the client requirements and once you fail they will make you responsible for everything (3) Virtusa used to be a Technical company and it was different from other service based firms as it used to focus on technology but now its a management mess with no focus on technology and technical people are treated as third grade citizen within the company (4) Management team has lost direction. It had to choose between rapid growth and quality. The management team chose growth over quality and it does not want to think about their client, technical teams, employee satisfaction etc. All they care about is people who are either bringing the business or maintaining the relationships with the client in whatever capacity (5) Too many non techincal managers managing technical people without having basic understanding of the technology used in the market. They work as eyes and ears of the management team and serve no purpose but to micromanage people. Their work is to fill the excel sheets, talk weird stuff during the meetings that makes no sense to anyone (6) Poor, inconsistent and ridiculous policies that are pushing people down and morale of all the teams is very low in this company (7) Projects are very short in length and no clarity on newer projects. People are just thrown like garbage all over the place and nobody cares about their life, commitments etc. The worst part is that many times RM team deliberately pushes people to go to the location to show the employees who is the boss. Many times employees had the projects in their choice of location but RM team forced them to leave and goto their specified location to work on an unrelated technology just to satisfy their ego. Nobody wants to listen because as I said this company is all about managers and technical folks are the last people they care about I think this company is way past its prime and it needs to do some introspection if it wants to remain in business. There is zero accountability in its management team starting from top to bottom and nobody wants to fix it. For technical people, please stay away from this company. You have been warned. There is no future for you within Virtusa. This company cant offer you anything.
