Pros

As someone with 20 years retail experience-No Pros. There are too many other retail jobs out there that would be more beneficial to anyone's career.

Cons

Too many cons to list. Just read all the reviews-they give an accurate portrayal of this company. If you want to feel like you are going off to prison everyday--not to a professional position in a respectable company--don't say you haven't been warned. You are on video at all times--so don't take one minute more than you need to to use the restroom. You are always being watched to see if you make a mistake of any kind so they can use any little thing against you to write you up. They will take sides with pscho customers rather than adhere to their own policies. Unreachable sales expectations. TESS. Two-faced management that sit in the breakroom and talk about everyone behind their backs.

Pros

o merchandise is nice o base pay is decent and competitive o hours of operation --- no extended holiday hours

Cons

It's hard to know where to begin because there are so many... o The turn over rate is the highest of any company I have known or worked for. People get fed up and leave. Yet, upper mgmt doesn't appear not to be concerned, as associates are viewed as expendables. A batch leaves, a new one comes in... o The floor and store managers are absolutely clueless as to how to run a business. They lack experience, education, and leadership skills. They focus on meaningless complaints and dated policies, while the things that matter are completely ignored. It seems like you're caught in a time warp --- they don't seem to get even the most basic of management principles. An associate said they are referred to as Von Martians --- meaning they don't think for themselves. They drank the cool aid, and are blind to what is truly going on. o TESS is a system that is cumbersome, and inflexible. It is a poor substitute for magagement o They prefer that you call in sick, rather than asking for necessary time to address a family or personal concern. They will happily have you work over, then deny a request for time off. o Mgmt is extremely impersonal. They don't appear to care for associate at all. Everything is one sided ---- everything is about the store, and employees don't count. o the Heroic program is a joke ---- associates have their friends call in for $10,00 o The dress code is from the 50's ---- making associates look worn and dated

Pros

Great training program! I felt 100% prepared on my own after completing the training class... very thorough! Unlike other stores during the Christmas season, there are were no crazy holiday hours. (no early morning/late nights). Paid time & a half on Sundays. Closed on Thanksgiving. Floor managers were always friendly & helpful. Customers were generally pleasant.

Cons

Seasonal employees only get a 10% discount. Ridiculous sales goals... It is EXTREMELY hard to meet them with so many associates working at the same time in one department. We were often fumbling over each other trying to make it. Myself & the other seasonal employee often felt animosity towards us from regular employees whenever we made a sale.
