good pay (mostly) enjoyable work environment no crazy retail hours family oriented and family values based store request off days are usually granted w/o problem during the weekdays

Cons

Can get competitive Management is unhelpful most of the time weekends are never allowed to be requested off management will never back you up if theres a disagreement w/a customer, even if the customer was threatening you

von maur are closed for all major holidays. With know long holiday hours.

Cons

If you are a woman, you can onl wear a dress or a skirt. No pants at all.

Comparatively in retail, it's a very good working environment. Rules are fair and the customers are the main focus of the business.

Cons

Promotions are more often based on politics rather than ability. There are some problems with how new programs get implemented.
