I needed a job and it was easy to get one at vons

Cons

Pay is horrible. In general, store staff that works as cashiers or in other departments are not nice at all to courtesy clerks. Have to clean bathrooms and trash.

Great Union benefits and guaranteed hours.

Cons

Dimwit, overpaid, under-trained management. So many chatty, drama loving co-workers. I suppose that's expected in any retail field which is made up of mostly high school equivilancy graduates.

Easy Work, Friendly, Good benefits after many hundreds of hours

Cons

Low Pay, Slow to Raise, Advancement includes more work without much/ if any increase in pay. Work schedule is Erratic and changes - Will not schedule around another job. Union Dues can be 10-20% of your total income... depending on hours worked
