      Benefits packages for union and non-union workers is acceptable

      Cons

      Low pay High-school atmosphere Promotions extremely hard to come by Limited number of full-time positions Inconsistent scheduling Service program is a joke Union ensures that no matter how hard you work, your seniority trumps your performance Low morale among underappreciated employees Front-end supervisor "promotion" is a title only, no pay raise involved Ridiculous sales expectations for outside departments

      Worthwile but make an effort to get out. There is life (and a good one) outside Vons

      Pros

      Store managers make good money and there is not a lack of training. They strive for the highest standards. Great to have a store manager position on your resume.

      Cons

      No gray area with Vons. They don’t measure your career as a whole. They only look at the most recent results which could hold you back if they weren’t good the last week despite 15 years of overall excellent results.

      -guaranteed raises -flexible hours -opportunity for advancements -benefits

      Cons

      -fixed raises (a good employee and lazy employee receive the same paycheck) -management looks down upon employees -little motivation to work hard -unreal customer service expectations -usually understaffed
