Hyper-focused on metrics and micromanagement. "boiler room" mentality. Serious Nepotism happening. Resistant to any and all positive culture changes. PTO is actively frowned upon and even told it will be denied if you arent hitting your number. Work/Life balance is a dirty word. Office is an outdated cave. Depressing place to work.

All appeared good until upper management decided to close some US sites even when the company is making incredible revenue due to the hard work of many people, including those in the affected sites. There is no conscience about these decisions. Some of us worked so hard to achieve the current success, making great personal sacrifice. And in the end our reward was to be told our site is closing and we all must find new jobs. Ironic to note that in India and China WDC continues to hire steadily. Yes, this company is moving much of its engineering and FWQA overseas at a relentless pace. WDC upper management has lost site of what's made WDC a great company and now thinks it can treat the US worker as an insignificant asset to be quickly discarded. Although WDC gets much loyalty and hard work from its US workers, it is quick to discard the US worker and look across the ocean to hire and make even more money.
