Pros

The paycheck and the location are decent. Pay is biweekly.

Cons

Mentors and teamwork are almost non-existent. This may be due to the fact that there is little mobility in the company. Morale is low, and with little internal mobility this makes things stagnant. Little team attitude, little collaboration. Multiple teams may be working on the same thing without realizing it. Inefficient. For a global company, they seem adverse to the idea of using technology to allow people to work from home or call in to meetings from home. Physical presence in the office is usually required (expected?) for attending global meetings. A single call-in from a conference room with everyone there is usually what's done. This means early mornings and late nights, overall long days. Tired workers. The tools used are extremely outdated, are inefficient and break often. The operating mode is to use people work hours to make up for the inefficiencies in the technology. Everything runs in crisis mode all the time.

Pros

Good pay, friendly and smart people, and a good place to start a career. Some of the products are a lot of fun to work on. Since the company runs so lean, there are great opportunities to be recognized.

Cons

The reality of what goes on in this company-- the real corporate culture-- is nowhere near the values they try to promote. Management & executive leadership treat employees disrespectfully, low-quality products are shipped before they're ready so that they can bring in revenue, and promotions are given to unqualified leaders based on friendships instead of experience or ability. It's really too bad. There are so many great people that work here, but they're trapped under poor leadership and abusive executives. And the longer they continue to promote like-minded bullies, the more talented people will find somewhere else to work where they're recognized for how great they are.

Pros

Decent compensation for Senior Engineers. Number of different groups to work in. Manageable workload.

Cons

Executive management located in our Mountain View office continue to make bad decisions about software directions. Management continue to second guess engineering, thus stifling innovation by engineers. Executive management demanded that we post good reports on this site to offset the negative ones. Mountain View managers continue to disregard sound advice from their engineering talent, but instead follow the advice of their wives. Mountain View office has been the cause of several data center outages due to their covering up of past mistakes.
