Pros

Waste Management has a Great work environment, important industry, good growth opportunities, wonderful benefits, dedicated employees, good senior leadership. Overall, a wonderful company to work for.

Cons

There are not many downsides to working at Waste Management. The only things that i can think of are the crazy hours and the difficulty of working between departments, but these really are minor issues.

Pros

good benefits and the sodas always cold

Cons

This has to be the worst company any human being has ever worked for there is no room for improvement unless you have some type of degree and I guess experience in field you manage has in no way shape or form anything to do with how they hire their managers. If you want to see improper PPE regulations look at your managers who enforce thing against you and in turn walk around the yard in their tennis shoes and slacks. Never in my life would i have thought i could be degraded and work like a slave for some of the lowest pay imaginable. I cannot even begin to phathom how the guys who pick your trash out of the green waste for 8.25 n hour must feel when they are barely getting by breaking there backs all day long while management walks aroung the yard drinking there sodas and eating bagels but complain about employees late to a 15 minute break because they had to take a dump that lasted a few extra minutes. Oh and talk about some of the dirtiest fowlest things you can imagine to pick up and smell. Your not given the proper equipment to do your job I personally bring my own tool box with me to work every day. I hear alot about how they take care of the employee if so i want to see that. Because i havent felt more like a piece of crapin my entire life. I would never recommend this as a place to work.

Pros

Pay was fine. Benefits were one of the best in the industry. Benefits started to get expensive for a 11 Billion dollar a year company, though. Trucks were good, maintance was ok. At first, lots of room to improve your performence.

Cons

Company has policy to report every injury, I did, thats why i am a former employee. Company made every effort to keep me from returning to work. Productivity manager didn't have CDL, but did ride along to tell us what we were doing wrong. Too much favoritism to special employees. Company has deep pockets for management. At end,one mechanic for 25 trucks. Unrealistic productivity goals, example- why i took 2 minutes longer to get to landfill compared to other driver. Getting hurt, then losing bonus AND percentage of raise. NOT FAIR.
