      Pros

      This company truly cares about their employees. I have worked for another financial institution, and it is like night and day! The structure of the company is very parallel where even the CEO is accessible to a teller. It is a great environment to work in, no wonder people do not leave this company often!

      Cons

      The starting pay for anyone is usually lower than competing financial institutions, however the structure of the company is designed to payout in the long term through retirement and benefits.

      Pros

      Great place to work. Treat employees very well. Company is just getting better and better. The new CEO might be the most approachable CEO in the country. I believe the CEO really cares and is going to continue to help WAFD improve. He listens to the middle management in the annual meetings. Oh they also own insurance agency’s. The President on the insurance side allows his staff to make decisions. He might be the best boss anyone could ever have.

      Cons

      I have to wait ten years to see how awesome we are going to be in ten years. I wish I had a glass ball so I could see where we are going to be. Pay for some employees is too low.

      Thank you for your post, I really appreciate it but I have breaking news. I am not that good and in fact have a lot of shortcomings. We have seen many times that hubris can lead to poor decision making so we want to constantly remind ourselves of the risks in our business.       Pros

      Washington Federal has been in business for 100 years, the strength of the company is very impressive. There is a culture of personal accountability and opportunities to build your own brand while supporting company initiatives. Recently when the tax bill passed Washington Federal gave most employees an additional 5% pay increase on top of regular merit increases and has promised it is the year of the employee and will invest in new technology and training programs. I am consistently impressed with the common sense way things get done.

      Cons

      Conservative spending on facilities Work load is sometimes unbalanced on certain positions you need to be comfortable and optimistic with an environment of change and growth
