Pros

This company has reasonable goals for it's employees. The work standard is good and also based on sound and ethical business. Unlike some of the horror stories I've heard about many other financial companies, Washington Federal plays fair. The incentive to meet business goals is there, without the fear tactic. I've always felt appreciated here, which gives you more of a reason to perform well. There is plenty of room for advancing as well, and the culture here is fun...Oh and they are closed on the weekends!

Cons

Like any office job you're in a building all day not much physical activity.

Thank you for the feedback, WAFD is a great place to work because of people like you serving out clients every day. We are working on doing more on weekends but that is also a hardship on employees and work life balance. We need to find the right balance

Best place to work

Pros

The bank truly cares about its employees. Wages, compensation, and time off are adequate, but the sense of being part of a team is where the bank shines. Also, having worked at another bank and feeling the stress of high pressure sales goals everyday, I now love coming to work everyday.

Cons

No personal time is given. I have over 600 hours of sick time available (carried over from my previous bank that was acquired by WaFed), but if I need to take a personal day to help my kids with something, I am not allowed to take a sick/personal day. I am required to use vacation time.

Thank you for your headline, I feel the same way. You are right about the PTO, it is something many others are offering and it puts us at a competitive disadvantage. We will look further into it
