East to move up, low pay and compensation

Pros

The company makes it really easy to move upward and advance. The teller positions are really easy and not a bad pay for how easy it is. Most branches are slower than most institutions as well so it's not extremely stressful as a teller.

Cons

With the promotions come little or zero pay increase. 10 times the stress with ZERO pay increase is common. After 6 months, you can ask for a raise, but it's small. So small you might not even notice it after taxes. Little training typically comes with the promotions, so you are left lost, confused, and feeling dumb and embarrassed. The promotions are nice at first, but the low pay and lack of training don't make you want to stay long term.

Terrible experience

Pros

Not open on Saturdays so weekends off. Will not pay overtime, so always a 40 hour week. Good 401K. Free food and pop.

Cons

Cheap, Cheap Cheap. Will not spend money for the proper tools to do your job. Example: Cheap copy machine/printer down all of the time. Computer system EXTREMELY inadequate for the times. A lot of manual work because the system can't handle it. Pay is very poor. Will not hire enough staff to adequately and properly do the work. I literally had a headache after work for my last 6 months there. POOR COMMUNICATION. Lack of honesty on what they tell their employees. They say they treat their employees like family but cheat them in little unexpected ways in benefits. They only started offering bereavement pay a few years ago. Before that, who cares if you spouse dies. Ended up with Wa Fed due to an acquisition. Would never intentionally work there.
