Pros

As a new department at this bank, it can be stressful for everyone. The training was short, but if you had the skills to adapt to this position, it wasn't as hard to learn/get familiar with. I was hired on prior to one of the Bank of America acquisitions. It was a little nerve wrecking, but everyone you sat next to had the knowledge you needed if there was a question. Also, Supervisors and team leads walked around frequently asking if you were doing okay and/or answered your questions promptly. It was very comforting. There is also multiple resources you may find the information you are looking for without asking a question to someone else. Even when they change the proper information, they notify you in advance. Washington Federal supports me with complimentary refreshments such as drinks and snacks just incase you forget to bring a lunch or just something to munch on in our break room. There is multiple floors at my work location that you have the ability to maintain privacy when needed. When in doubt, you may always leave the building during breaks and lunch times. Leadership, Supervisors, and Management strongly believe in and encourage the open door policy to everyone. As a team member, I had the chance to talk with the correct person about other opportunities Washington Federal has to offer while being in my department. It's awesome to know that there is so much room for growth in all of Washington Federal departments that are willing to train you. I feel very supported and encouraged with my life inside and outside of work. Leadership and supervisors always help everyone with time off or a temporary schedule change to make sure you get your 40 hours of work (most places don't give you that opportunity). As a C3 Agent and also a new member to Washington Federal, I am very proud and pleased to say that I work with one amazing team, let alone Washington Federal.

Cons

C3 department in Everett had too many cliques previously causing bullying. Some previous unprofessional talk during work hours between C3 agents. Everything to this date has improved and is a much better environment.

Senior Management doesn't care about the bottom line workers

Pros

Some of the managers here are absolutely amazing and will teach you a ton if you are willing to learn. This is a good starting company to get some basic training and experience but you want to leave before you get worn out and beat down by a management doesn't care about you as a person because you are replaceable.

Cons

The executive Management is stuck in the Stone Age, the company still uses typewriters and mails tons of documents every day even though everything could easily be converted to electronic. They also don’t seem to care about the “line workers” and are always shrinking bonuses, refusing to give pay raises to job promotions to the people who deserve them. Instead, they increase their own salary and bonuses and take it away from everyone below them. The company would rather train a new person every year than spend a bit more to increase someone’s salary and keep on good workers. I was there for three years and I saw tons of people leave just because the company wouldn't give them a raise. A company can’t expect to keep on good talent for over 2 years without any incentives. When you start at this company you work really hard to show off your skills but all your work goes unnoticed. The HR department is probably the worst department, they don’t know how to do their job, give you wrong information and really only care about themselves.

Terrible Management

Pros

You get paid to sit around while waiting for the phones to ring.

Cons

Management has no idea what they're doing. They are always changing the schedules because they're either understaffed or overstaffed. They don't appreciate the hard workers, the appreciate the brown nosers that like to gossip and tattle on other people. You have no privacy in the break room when a group of people are eating lunch a manager or lead comes over to make sure you're speaking positively. When initially hired you were told lies just to get you in the door. The training was poor, only a few days and then you were thrown into taking calls. You get in trouble for giving miss information because the rules are always changing and the communication in these changes is very poor. Moral of all coworkers is very low, most are looking for other job opportunities either inside the company or else where. This is one of the only banks I know of that has the call center open on Sunday but no other dept is available, so all you can do is give out a balance. The company doesn't know customer service and won't take advice from employees that want to help.
