      Pros

      After many years of working there, the customers and I got to know each other well. They tend to seek for my advice. Good friendships were developed with coworkers. Originally, had great senior management (before most had retired).

      Cons

      Throughout the years of management changes, the quality of management changed. The newer in management roles had no people skills or experience in banking. Treated their staff with disrespect

      Pros

      The coworkers I have are the only reason I’ve stayed as long as I have. Never worked with such a wonderful group of people..

      Cons

      The pay is very poor.. They hire employees and then put the time in to “train” them just so they can leave to another bank. If Washington Federal would pay just a-little more it would be a great company to work for. As a CSR, I’ve never felt so unappreciated at a job.. you get shamed for things you do wrong when you were never trained to do it in the first place. They definitely favor different branches/locations (Seattle) over others.

      Pros

      This company truly cares about their employees. I have worked for another financial institution, and it is like night and day! The structure of the company is very parallel where even the CEO is accessible to a teller. It is a great environment to work in, no wonder people do not leave this company often!

      Cons

      The starting pay for anyone is usually lower than competing financial institutions, however the structure of the company is designed to payout in the long term through retirement and benefits.
