Pros

Decent training program, some interesting experiences.

Cons

Inconsistent and very low pay for the hours you put in. Capital improvements to the building along with routine maintenence will negatively affect your paycheck. Complicated pay structure with goals that are not consistently attainable. Work week 60-75 hours, with mandatory show ups on weekend nights. Work every single holiday and weekend. They routinely break state laws by taking shortages(cash or food) out of your pay. Break OSHA laws for a safe work environment. Upper management usually poorly educated, stuck in a management style from the 1960's. Weekly meetings where you are personally berated and embarassed in front of your collegues (especially if you're a woman). This list could encompass a dictionary so I will stop.

Pros

Waffle House designs their system to always be looking out for the customer and its employees. They reward their employees on all levels based on time with the company, sales success and even personal successes. They have incentive programs during shifts, weeks, quarters or years. Their employee support policies are really quite good. They allow maternity and paternity leaves, even for adopted children.

Cons

Working at Waffle House can be real work, on your feet, long hours, poor attitudes from customers and coworkers alike.

Pros

Get paid every week and enjoy a daily food allowance. Tight knit envioronment so meeting your co-workers and regular guest isn't a problem

Cons

Cramped working conditions. Feels as if the customers are way too close to the cooking area. Since it is small have to keep personal life out of the workplace and try not to become too familiar with everyone else at the job (co-workers and customers alike).
