Pros

I've been an employee at walgreens for several years, and have worked several areas of the store. the good thing is that they like to cross-train their employees in different departments so you can get a feel of working other positions. the schedule can be very random, or regular depending on how the manager at your store likes to do it--this can be good or bad but there is a regular rotation of weekends off where I work.

Cons

The customers get irate easily and like to try to haggle like this place is a flea market. Don't get stuck as a store team lead, you'll do all the work of an assistant manager while making at least 50% less money. Walgreens is open 365 days a year, and chances are you will be working a few holidays. they almost always promote to management from outside the company. they would rather hire an outsider to be a manager than promote people with experience. it has happened to me and I've seen it lots over the years.

Pros

Based on my opinion communication within the work place is key to being successful and Walgreen seems to be improving in that area. Job security is good and the pay is slightly above average.

Cons

None against Walgreen, but labor laws have made it difficult to terminate employees who are performing below average and purposefully fail to follow certain company procedure.
