Pros

Everyone fits in together like a second family. Everyone has their place in the store. There's enough drama to keep it from being boring, but not enough to make someone go crazy. The people that end up quiting, don't belong, but you know who's going to stick around for awhile once they're hired. It's a very friendly environment and everyone works together as a team. Any task that one has to do that isn't "fun" can be made fun. Counting cigarettes, scanning outs, and scanning in the truck becomes fun. The routine is wonderful. Waking up early to come to work is not a chore.

Cons

There aren't enough stores in my area for me to advance as soon as possible. Sometimes customers can become very irate and argumentative over coupons. We run out of things too fast, customers expect us to be a Walmart sometimes.

Pros

People your age to work with; sometimes the management is helpful; other employees on your level are good to work with

Cons

terrible compensation; unfair management; disrespectful management; treated as a number rather than a person; management cares more about bonus than giving adequate hours

Pros

The benefits are outstanding, I have a flexible schedule, and for years we have been for fore-runner in pharmacy operations. If you plan on going to pharmacy school, once you have been accepted the company will help you pay for tuition. Interacting with patients has always been enjoyable for me; I have been with the company for nine years and have accumulated a great deal of knowledge that benefits the patient, it feels good to share that with them and help better their lives.

Cons

In Florida there is a new program entitled POWER. It is an off-site base where technicians and pharmacists that are not in the store enter and review the prescription data. Then if there is an insurance problem of any sort, there are people there who handle the claims as well. This was intended to take the load off of the technicians and pharmacists in the stores to free them up to help the customers and provide more personal service. Except, the system doesn't quite work as well in reality as it does on paper. This causes numerous customer service issues, etc. Now I can no longer fix a patient's problem or expedite their prescription. I have my hands tied and must wait for the system to release the prescription. This has definitely increased the stress level of the job exponentially.
