Pros

- some work can be good - some people are good

Cons

- company does not care about tech workers, outsourcing jobs - pushing hard for return to office, forced relocations - bad managers and rampant micromanaging initiatives - wlb is not respected at all They really don't respect workers, leadership is tone deaf to the needs of the workers. Company is going to lose a lot of talented people. Highly suggest to stay away.

Pros

If you don't have any experience, you can get it here. They can teach you to be a good engineer. As long as you can endure being woken up by the pager for bizarre issues at 3am on a regular basis.

Cons

I worked here for 15 years. It used to be great, but it has changed for the worse. It is a highly stressful work environment. My doctor once told me that all his patients work at the Walmart Home Office, and they are all on anti-depressants, because that is the only way they can handle the stress. If you are on an SSRI, you may thrive at DGTC. It will provide a protective barrier for the crippling stress you'll be subjected to. I had a bunch of medical problems. When I quit Walmart, they all disappeared. Stress can do things to you. I'm better now because I've gotten away from this place. Walmart culture has a lot of cult vibes. You'll never say the word "problem" again. They're all "opportunities". You'll also be expected to do the Walmart cheer on a regular basis. It's humiliating and ridiculous. If you meet someone who likes doing the Walmart cheer, beware. They have drunk the kool-aid. Pay is way less than what you can get at other companies. After I finally decided to leave, I was able to double my salary at another company. I'm now mentally healthy and paying off my mortgage faster. Also, because the pay is so low, you will be working with a lot of people with below average IT skills.
