Pros

There are opportunities to move up with the company if you prove an aptitude for management. Management at a department level is very clear-cut and task driven. Open door culture fosters communication between associates and management. Most decisions at a store level are clearly supported by corporate policy. Even more opportunities to advance if you are willing to change stores, cities, or even states or region.

Cons

High pressure. Little support of assistant store level management. Ineffective training program for management. Not enough or clear support of store level management. Unfairly balanced pay structure. Pay caps for hourly associates. Salaries are competitive with other mass retail but still do not seem to be realistic in current economy. Training programs and human relations programs need an overhaul to maximize potential of workers.
