Pros

Co-workers can be great, you make friends outside of your normal circle and are group. If you keep on your managers you can get time off. It is possible to move up. Do some good things with charities and community.

Cons

High stress, hard to get your voice heard, complaints rarely get a response from employees. Rarely a change happens that benefits employees. Not Mr. Sam's kind of company anymore, and I only say that because I talk to 20+ year people who actually met him.

Walmart Assistant Store Manager position

Pros

Stability. One of the top companies today.

Cons

Way too many hours, typically 70 hour weeks during retail season. Terrible health insurance, you have to pay the first 3500 dollars. Bad 401k, they only match up to 6%. You will have to listen to customer complaints and unfortunately, Walmart does not have as leanient of a return policy as the past, so customers get pretty angry about that and there is really nothing you can do to help them.

Pros

After gaining seniority I could get holidays off. A yearly pay raise based on performance.

Cons

The upper management can be pretty useless. The attitudes of "lifers" can come off condescending
