      Lots of Growth Opportunities

      Pros

      The best thing about working at WM is you get to be involved with all phases of the process: planning all the way to construction admin. This really helps you understand how a project comes together and get a lot of great experience. It's also a large firm, so there is always opportunity to take on more and move up. WM likes to promote from within and also has lots of mentoring opportunities to get you support for where you want to go. There are also very robust resource systems, so when I was a growing JC I got to really focus on my PM development and not be bogged down with drafting ALL the time. If you want to grow, there really isn't a better place to go. There is also a lot of job security, and I love that with the pandemic they have the option to work remote OR in office based on personal preference/circumstance.

      Cons

      There are really only a few cons, one of which is that we do have a separate design team, so if doing the original design is a must for you, you would need to work within that group and you would mostly only work on design. You do still get to develop the design and work with the designers regardless though. The other is that the benefits/holidays aren't as aggressive as some other larger bay area companies, but it's still competitive with the general market.

      Pros

      I had a great experience working for Ware Malcomb. From day one Ware Malcomb encouraged me to do my best, challenged me with new opportunities, and nourished me with mentorship and guidance. I see many people reach new levels in there careers at Ware Malcomb because of the responsibility and support Ware Malcomb gives to them. I have seen many success stories’ where someone starts out of school, and with hard work and talent becomes a director or a principal. Outside of career growth Ware Malcomb has a great company culture. I think my favorite Ware Malcomb holiday is Halloween. Every office dresses up. In Pleasanton I think we had 90% participation. They also have lots of events that encourage health and fitness. Friday afternoon beers with the office are a great way to connect with the team, (if you’re not big into beer they also have wine). Don’t forget to ask about their fabulous holiday party. Ware Malcomb is always innovating and looking at ways to get the job done better. They recently solicited all there staff (from interns to principals) for ideas on how to take Ware Malcomb to the next level. They do value everyone’s opinion.

      Cons

      There is always plenty of work at Ware Malcomb. If you don’t have a solid work ethic it may not be the place for you.

      Pros

      Only being employed a short amount of time, I learned a lot and grew tremendously.

      Cons

      Could never use my vacation days with all the overtime that was required.
