When will it start getting better and stop getting worse Christopher O’Connell?
Pros
Every co-worker treats you like a friend, there with you every day trying their best and working collaboratively to research, design, develop, test, release, and support cutting edge technology. Recently started an official remote work program. Renewed sense of urgency within company to innovate in new areas with new ideas.
Cons
You and your co-workers arrive every day in the trenches, with poor direction and leadership from the C-suite. They tell their subordinates to tell their subordinates to tell their subordinates that they are fighting the good fight and Not to give up. Pick up your rusted tolls to work on your broken down aging equipment so that we don’t have to fall back and retreat. You and everyone else are trying to reach HQ over the radio but the radio is sparking and you never know the next time you will get shocked so you try the phone. When you try the phone it buzzes in you ear and you dial HQ but you only get a voice mail box. You continuously take incoming fire from your enemies that you can see closing in. Your company get called in by your CO and he tells you that the enemy is loosing ground and are about to surrender because of your hard work and dedication. Someone asks the CO about the new plane with the photon torpedoes, to which he replies that they are not a threat. You ask about the old radios and when they will be replaced and he does not recognize the name, model or function. Everyone around you is frustrated because all they want to do is win. All the employees go to chow and talk about the burning desire down to their bones to win the war. You try to strategize new ways of working with the old broken equipment to keep trying to make and support the same old equipment that has not been updated in years. All the while being given additional old equipment to support and maintain and upgrade with no additional help. Why are we still using the same process and mentality we used in the 80s and 90s? Everyone knows they are broken, manual and restrictive. If you like working for a company fighting a war of attrition that will end with you being payed off because of purely money driven desire to make your stakeholders happy to make your financials look better then Waters Corp is great for you. If you like being underplayed and over worked then Waters Corp is great for you. If you like to justify why you need modern common tech to do your daily work then waters Corp is for you. If you like fighting with Aetna, their healthcare insurance provider to get coverage and the medication that your doctor prescribes then Waters Corp is for you. If you like eating overpriced, unhealthy food that makes you tired and by dirty pissed off employees sub-contracted then Waters Corp is for you. If you like a company that is only concerned with employees in Milford, MA and not any other office then waters is for you. If you like working in a drab and depressing, halogen light area with random outages and flickering lights and crumbling buildings then Waters Corp is for you.
