One of the worst companies to work for.

Pros

Weekly paycheck. Free drinks while you are on the clock.

Cons

If you want to advance, you need to be in the "click". They play many stall tactics to hold you back from interviews for promotion. They make a mockery of their own core values but expect you to adhere to them. Majority of the Area Managers and General Managers are two-faced. They will talk about you behind your back and to other employees about personal information.

Pros

Wawa treats its employees well and cultivates a real sense of internal community. A lot of people I met, both at stores and in corporate, had lost track of how long they'd been with the company. People are given work that actually helps the company succeed, and even low level corporate jobs feel important.

Cons

Part of the "Wawa is a family" attitude that gets dicey is when someone really just isn't a good fit for the position they're in, but hasn't really broken any rules. I saw a few instances where an employee wasn't right for their job but stayed in it for a while because managers and HR didn't press the issue.

Pros

I have worked at Wawa for 7 years. I like some of the local regular customers. I have worked at several stores and I generally like the people I work with and for. Once I was promoted to management I recieved a good pay raise.

Cons

The stores are usually in poor neighborhoods leading to some unsavory experiences. Very inconsistant with their teachings they definitely do not practice what they preach. A lot of favoritism and politics go into it. Who you know is crucial. Dead end if you are not apart of the in crowd. Load the work on you the higher up you go.
