Pros

Pretty good benefits. Medical, dental and vision, ESOP, 401k and they'll even reimburse you for a gym membership in many cases. You meet a lot of interesting people, which could be a pro or con depending on the person. It is possible to advance far within the company if you've very dedicated and aggressive.

Cons

You are on call 24/7. Expect to work nights, weekends, every holiday, doubles and turnarounds. Especially management. You might work 2-11pm, then third shift calls out and you have to stay until 6 or 7 in the morning and then come back in for another 2-11pm shift that same day. GMs pressure you to do extra work off the clock (even though that is technically against company policy) and volunteer for charity events because it makes them look good. If you go on vacation turn your phone off because you will receive calls and texts from work. As with most retail, you have a ton of work to do with very little and often only half-trained help. You may work 9 or 10 hours with no break. "Shift wars" are common, where everyone blames everyone else for whatever wasn't done. Company policies are often either unrealistic or enforced sporadically.

Pros

The job is great as long as you work at the right store. If you're working with people who are idiots you'll hate it but if you end up at a good store it's an easy job and you'll enjoy yourself.

Cons

Sometimes management will drag their feet when it comes to helping you move up. You have to really stay on top of them and make sure they're following through with what they said they were going to do.
