Pros

Supportive Leadership & Team: The leadership team invests in people’s development and actually listens to feedback. My direct manager was always willing to roll up their sleeves and help problem-solve. Opportunities for Growth: If you’re proactive, there’s plenty of room to take on stretch assignments and expand your skill set. I was able to lead major initiatives with real client impact, even early in my tenure. Culture of Innovation: Waystar is not afraid to try new things. Leadership encourages the use of technology and new processes (like Power BI and AI tools), which keeps the work interesting and fresh. Mission-Driven: It feels good to work for a company that’s genuinely making healthcare more efficient for providers and patients. Work-Life Balance: Most teams are flexible, and I was able to manage my time well even during busier months.

Cons

Growing Pains: The company is scaling fast, which can lead to shifting priorities and occasional lack of clarity on roles or responsibilities. Process Overload: Some internal processes can feel redundant or overly complicated, which slows down decision-making. Resource Constraints: Teams are sometimes stretched thin, especially during peak project times or after reorgs. Communication Gaps: Information doesn’t always flow smoothly between departments, leading to the occasional “surprise” or last-minute ask. Benefits Could Improve: While the basics are covered, some competitors offer stronger benefits packages and more competitive PTO
