Pros
The People
I'm a people person and I've had jobs where I liked the work but didn't love who I was doing it with. The people at WebFx truly make it great - you will have coworkers who become friends and plenty of people to help teach and guide you. My coaches are both great mentors. It is still work so I don't look forward to coming in every single day but having people on my team I enjoy learning and working with has been a big improvement from my last job.
Buddy Program
They connect you with a mentor/buddy when you first start and you get to go to coffee, events, lunch with them. It was nice to have somebody to look up to and be able to ask (sometimes hard) questions. I still grab coffee with mine to this day!
Overall Training and Guidance
There is a bootcamp that you do that is around 120 days but you have some pieces you are working on for training through the whole first year. I was SUPER nervous when I first started that I wouldn't be able to keep up because I didn't study digital marketing and school and my other jobs were not related at all. The training was a god send for me. They don't throw you off to work with clients right away and let you drown. I remember in my interview they said they pride Web FX on training and developing people from a variety of backgrounds and that was true.
Activities
Impossible to list all of the different clubs, events, perks in one spot. I have participated in crafting club, workouts at the office, workouts at local gyms, cooking classes, coffee cupping, well known book authors speaking, family day party, team dinners, breakfasts in the office, game night, book club, on and on and on!
Charity Focus
The company has a good charity match program where they match your donations to non profits. They also have been very generous with FX Builds program and do 1 or 2 big donations a year to do things like build a school, build water dams, improve drinking water wells for communities abroad. They just started a local program to give high school students a chance to learn digital marketing and WebFX pays for the training - I LOVE the generosity!
Bonuses/Raises
Lots of bonus potential once you are here for a few years and raises have always been generous. We get a year end bonus to use towards tech products and also get lots of bonus cash and gift cards for ongoing learning. We got a cost of living raise this year too.
New Opportunities
The company had like 200 people when I started and we have almost 500 now in just a few years so there are lots of responsibilties being handed out and seems like a good place to grow your career right now.
Random Ones
Company Tesla you can drive and sign out, ball room conference room, Live Well FX health program, open minded/inclusive, Harrisburg office close to Little Amps, office close to river walkway.
Cons
Hard to Know Everybody
I talked about all of the growth which is great but the company does feel a lot bigger now and it is hard to get to know everybody like you could when it was smaller (or even remember/know their names)
Constant Changes
One day you might get a new client unexpectedly or your desk will be moving somewhere else or you have a new area of marketing to work in or there is a new policy. Not too much stays the same and it can be a LOT sometimes.
Retirement Plan
My last job paid out more for retirement plan 401k match.
Don't Feel Able To Use Flexibility
There are lots of flexibility options for scheduling things like dentists, WFH days that are built in to calendar but it can be hard to actually use them because you don't want to fall behind or create even more work.
Holiday Time Off
Don't get Christmas Eve or MLK Day off - usually only get the main holidays off which is annoying when your friends have those days off
Noisy Office
If you have some loud phone talkers by you, the office gets really loud when more than 1 person is talking at once.
Random Ones
5 minute walk from parking lot to office, confusing parking lot, not enough fridge space for lunches, coffee service is only provided in morning, less meetings would be nice.
