The so-called management professional for my team outwardly showed favoritism and had a huge ego that needed to be stroked constantly by staff. Those on the team who were not well-liked were those who did not focus their attention on the manager and their boring, and at times, crude and inappropriate discussions about their personal life during team meetings. If you enjoy a position where you cannot have independent thoughts or ideas, enjoy extreme micromanagement as well as the potential for belittlement during meetings, then this is the place to go. The division where I worked definitely had a “boy’s club” mentality so if you are a female you should do twice the work, go without recognition, and usually have some type of criticism thrown in for a little boost of morale. There were masked repercussions related to employee satisfaction surveys as well. This was the absolute worst, demoralizing, arrogant, self-serving manage, team, company that I worked for in my career and I would never recommend this healthcare system to a friend or family member.
