Cons

Because the company is so large, you often run into difficulties with frequent changes in protocol that are always requiring you to relearn processes. It is difficult to feel connected with any of the decisions that are being made that really affect you.

The Benefits are very good.

Cons

Wellspan is to large of a company. They don't care about their employees as a person but look at the employees as a number. A number that will bring in more money. The bottom line is about all they care about. It's a toxic environment to work in and employee harassment is very prevalent. And nothing is ever done about the harassment. Managers only care if the employees are making them look good. Not if their employees are happy with their working environment.

WellSpan is a wonderful place to work. It is a very caring, compassionate employer that really does care about work/life balance. Lots of high ranking women with leadership roles. WellSpan cares about advancing your career development, even if it means you leave the organization. The benefits are AMAZING and the leadership team is made up of some just really nice and down to earth people. Our mantra is "Assume Goodwill" and people genuinely do just that, always assume that we all have the best of intentions.

Cons

As is with all very large organizations, there is no shortage of work to be done. Working at WellSpan is not an exception to this. There are times when we feel understaffed but understanding the need to keep budgets in mind you learn to make the best with less. The good thing is, management knows this and recognizes that everyone is doing their best.
