Pros

Very stable company given its risk aversion and manageable business unit growth expectations. Friendly colleagues and generally an accommodating environment that fosters good ideas to bubble to the top. For most of the people who work at the firm, there is a lack of ego. Competitive compensation package, generous ancillary compensation (i.e. paid time off, 401k matching contributions, medical, dental insurance, etc.)

Cons

Risk aversion may be a tad too much given we are in a post credit crisis era, and companies are stronger financially. Resistant to changing too quickly the old ways of process and procedures, especially in regards to analyzing customers/clients who require credit. Resistant to very profitable ventures that is industry proven, however, the business unit is not familiar with.

Pros

Lots of opportunities to move and grow. Decent benefits. Some very smart people work here. Hysterical laughter about the bureaucratic nonsense.

Cons

Wachovia merger wreaks havoc. Contractors are treated much better than full time employees. They keep saying "One Wells" but Home Mortgage is a completely differently run unit. Almost impossible to get anything done there.

Pros

- Great investment selection and freedom to access the most appropriate investment solutions for my clients. - Reasonable flexibility and variety in the day to day operations.

Cons

- Since the most recent merger (Wells Fargo & Wachovia) most transactions must now pass through numerous levels of red tape beyond a previously local and personalized review and approval process.
