Pros
I have nothing pro to say about WellStar so I am just filling in the 20 word minimum that's required.
Cons
Management has NO interest in improving processes. "This is the way we've always done things" is an hourly comment. When the money is tight, they take the easy way out and arbitrarily cut staff rather then identify and correct inefficiencies. I have worked in 4 different health systems and although WellStar was the biggest, it is by far the most dysfunctional. HR is a joke. IT is terrible. Middle management is so disrespectful, people show up 15 minutes late to meetings (or not at all) and the VPs/Sr Execs don't even blink at the blatant disengagement of their direct reports. Patient quality of care is atrocious. Employee satisfaction reports are an out and out lie (Sr Management reports 95% satisfaction in "official" reports yet the overall mean on the Gallup report is 3.9 out of 5??). I voluntarily left the company after 6 months because I was so appalled at how the business was run. Be very scared to work here and be VERY terrified to be a patient here. Falls and infection rates are publicly reported by Medicare, check them out.
