Pros

Name recognition, plenty of jobs (advertised jobs, anyway), I seriously cannot think of much that I enjoyed about working there...

Cons

Seems like the only people writing really positive reviews on here are RNs. CNAs (or Clinical Care Partners as they are called there) are treated like second-class citizens who are supposed to bow down in awe to the nursing staff. Management is quirky and often times I heard whispers that the Nurse Manger (on my unit) actually has mental health issues. That would explain a lot. Within 30 days of her placement in the position, at least 1/2 of the unit quit, transferred, or retired. But I also believe it's hit or miss. I know of some units that have WONDERFUL Nurse Managers and their employees will say so (no matter what letters follow their last name). Tough, tough policy on illness or legitimate emergencies that may cause you to clock in a few minutes late. No excuses ~ they just write an occurrence and then you're out the door. HR is useless. Apparently, they post jobs that don't exist because you literally have to know someone to even get your resume reviewed or a return phone call. There is no one to speak to if you feel like you have a legitimate problem on your job. Management will "look the other way" or be much more compassionate and lenient with their "special" employees (i.e. friends) than they are with the ones that didn't "play the game right." A LOT of back stabbing. Someone else mentioned on here about management fostering an atmosphere of encouraging employees to "rat out" their peers and that is VERY true. I was asked MANY times behind closed doors to tell the Nurse Manager what was "going on out on the floor" and to "keep her in the loop on gossip."

Pros

See above... I believe the high quality 'World Class" service motto is great to strive for! Many ways to train for this vision.

Cons

Most departments are not run in a manner that supports WellStar's vision and mission. Department Leaders are selected by popularity or those that keep things 'easy' with mediocrity as the norm. Morale is effected by poor leadership = low productivity and quality....
