      Pros

      WellStar provides great benefits, nice co-workers, and competitive salaries. There are several locations to make short commutes for people in most of western metro Atlanta.

      Cons

      403(b) match is laughable at best, things move very slowly, most upper management wants to do a sweeping housecleaning of people who have been working there for over 20 years, to bring in new talent.

      Pros

      health benefits within 30 days, free concierge service, retirement benefits, payroll deduction for meals, gift shop, uniforms.

      Cons

      try to keep staff busy with "committees", but nothing is ever changed; retaliation for reporting issues; transferring is an act of congress (manager will try to hold you as long as possible, or write you up and ruin your records because they are so short staffed); beware of nurse patient ratio information on new hire---doesn't happen.

      It's a Place to Work

      Pros

      Good team members make job easier. I feel confident in most of our physicians and in the facility itself; The hospital is fairly state of the art. I get the impression that the CEO is a caring individual who wants the best for the system.

      Cons

      Poor staffing ratios, no float pool and poor temp arrangements make some shifts unsafe. Current upper nursing management team is relatively new and often makes changes without considering repercussions. I.E. dropping the float pool without an adequate alternative.
