Pros

There are lots of good people at West Monroe who will support you and your growth if you are committed to playing "the game" of leveraged consulting. The pay and benefits are on point. People are allowed to be themselves as long as the work is delivered in a predictable and passable fashion.

Cons

Leadership suffers from a lack of imagination and adaptability. A core group of longtime leaders oversaw tons of growth in the 2010s, which stalled out during the pandemic. It did not help that they acquired a bunch of smaller agencies that mostly proved to be incompatible with the very traditional way West Monroe operates. Lots of people in design and digital product roles either left or got laid off.

It was really sad...

Pros

Originally started out as a great role, mentoring others, helping customers achieve their goals, fair comp, etc...but that was when the company had 3 month pipeline, full schedules, and a sales team, with expertise in house working side by side with the up and coming folks. Unfortunately, required RIF's, have bled this place dry. some of the originals still hang on for hope as they know no other job environment, and believe business will return.

Cons

Serious lack of realistic long-term strategy. Failed to take advantage of the niche market that they had cornered. WFH is barely alive at this point. Unintentionally screwed their Directors when they changed the comp packages. Got caught with their "ESOP Conversion" pricing in court, still ongoing. Lack of pipeline is driving sales goals, instead of the other way around. RIF's are not announced, so they "pay in lieu" of 60 days notice, which they format as "severance" when in fact they are required to pay at least 60 days to laid REF'd employees because they failed to provide ample notice of the RIF for the size organization they are.
