Pros

Great customer base and needed products/services. New management appears to be good.

Cons

Much uncertainty as company just formed 7/1/15. Promise to provide synergies to Wall St. is causing reductions of headcount before integration complete.

Toxic Corporate Culture

Pros

The pay is above (or equal to) what you'd likely get at most companies of this size, at least on the corporate side. Good benefits for the most part. PTO isn't really tracked, so quite flexible.

Cons

- The corporate culture is quite negative and toxic. With many in upper leadership that have never worked outside of the packaging industry, there's a constant battle between the "old guard" and the new, younger workforce. - The corporate culture at WestRock is heavily favoritism-based. Unpopular decisions will be escalated to upper management at the drop of a pin. - "Flexible" in-office days are a lie - they expect you to be at your desk 3-4 days minimum, from 9-5. No real incentives to return to the office - just punishment if you don't. Senior management walks the floors to ensure workers are at their desks. - Executive team doesn't appear to have a plan outside of closing facilities.

Horrible Corporate Culture

Pros

Not many pros unless you really like sitting behind a cubicle and answering to a manager that takes credit for all of your work. The best part of this experience was leaving at the end of the day.

Cons

I am convinced that this company is the peak of mundaneness and stagnancy. This is the corporation that makes people jump off the 10th floor for there is absolutely no career growth and fulfillment at all. With the hybrid work culture, I barely met anyone in my department. When people do go in the office, they are confined to the cubicle and the microsoft teams access. No one meets in person and instead choose to have meetings with their camera off in their cubicle in the office. It is very odd and having worked in multiple corporate offices, this is the weirdest one I have been apart of.
