Pros

WestRock is in a growth mode with focus on expanding core capabilities and service offerings. Coworkers are great and the company seems vested in developing top talent. Good pay, travel opportunities and lots of training to expand your skill set. The Corporate leadership team is forward-thinking, progressive (relative to industry peers), and embraces cultural diversity, treating all employees with respect & dignity. We are involved in a lot of interesting projects and the work is exciting. I am very happy working here and looking forward to the future.

Cons

I have at times witnessed and experienced the typical corporate "Boys Club" vibe... There are very few women in Senior leadership positions. The Company is siloed, often making cross-divisional and even cross-departmental communication challenging. Frequently there are competing objectives and/or bureaucracy which cripple output and stifle creativity. Possibly this is limited to my group but the attitudes around flexible working hours/occasional work-from-home seem to be very outdated. You're treated like a freeloader if you want to work from home more than once a month, even though we travel and put in long hours quite a bit.

Pros

Flexibility, pay, many good people/coworkers who care.

Cons

Environment is greatly dependent on the site you work out. The culture could be amazing while other sites have done of the worst culture. Consistency between management is lacking creating unclear expectations. The “good ol boy” system is alive and well. True diversity and inclusion is lacking. None of the sites I worked with could grasp the changing workforce and need to change recruitment and engagement strategies. Attendance policies are outdated.
