Pros

Competitive Salary, Good PTO and benefits

Cons

Overall management is poor; Western split from Oxy in 2020 (when Oxy purchased Anadarko) - and from HR, to Invoicing and payment of external business partners and overall consistency within the organization - they just don't have it together as a stand alone company. Top heavy with too many middle managers many with little to no experience. If you are an independent thinker and have ideas, this is not the place for you. If you want to be micro-managed and part of a "my way or the highway" hierarchy - then you will like it here. Unfortunately most of the directors don't put the time in to know what's happening or really examine what managers are doing or how they are spending millions questionably. Some really great people, but leadership and processes just aren't working at Western.

Pros

Almost everyone in Denver, field offices, and The Woodlands are knowledgeable, capable, and a pleasure to work with. Benefits and pay are competitive. WES touts having best overall comp package, which means benefits are better than most companies (401k match, health, etc) but salaries don't always compare.

Cons

Leadership was struggling to figure things out when I left, which is a major reason I no longer work there. They just didn't have things figured out at a company level (systems, who's in charge of what, a little micromanaging from the VP level, etc). I hear things are getting better with a few personnel shifts, but I would still expect some corporate shenanigans to continue.
