Pros

Western National truly cares about their employees and their clients. They truly believe that family comes first and are more than accommodating to help you work through tough situations. This applies to employees and their clients. They promote from within before looking outside the company to fill positions. They truly believe that experience is of the utmost importance, yet they also provide many opportunities for you to obtain the experience you need to pursue a fulfilling career with them. They truly treat their employees as valuable assets. Good work is rewarded, and they let you know they appreciate you on a regular basis. Employees are helpful and friendly. The ability to have a hybrid work schedule makes life a lot easier for busy parents. The benefits are good. The company motto of "The Relationship Company" is something that fits Western National to a "T".

Cons

The training new employees receive is still a work in progress, however, it continues to improve year to year. Ability to work with your Co-workers is vital to your success.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a thoughtful review. We appreciate hearing your many positive comments about working at Western National. We truly believe that our culture is one of the distinguishing factors that sets us apart from our competitors, and we would be remiss not to acknowledge the role that our employees play in strengthening and maintaining that culture. We are proud to offer a wide array of professional development opportunities to our employees, and we are appreciative to hear that you value those efforts. We are also pleased to read your comments about our benefits and hybrid work environment as we know that those are important components of our comprehensive Total Rewards package. As you mentioned, training is vital to our employee’s success and we are striving to make improvements in our programs. In 2022, we created our Learning and Development Department as an extension of our Human Resources Team because we recognized how critically important it is to provide opportunities for training and development to our teams. While our Learning and Development Team is still new, we are proud to share we are making great strides towards offering comprehensive training programs to all new and current employees. We are glad that you are recognizing those efforts! We are always looking for feedback on areas in which we can improve. If you have any further suggestions on ways to improve our training program, please contact us directly at HRmail@wnins.com.

Pros

I feel that my leaders truly care about me, including my work/life balance and compensation/benefits. Being kind and helpful are core values at Western, and these values are regularly communicated and reinforced from every level of the company. I have also found that there is a lot of space to job-craft and get more involved with areas of interest.

Cons

I think the IT department is aspirational in terms of enterprise-level structure, process, and tooling. This period of transition might be an adjustment for people coming from big companies, but it also creates more job-crafting and leadership opportunities.

Pros

Work from home some days, easy work, basic help desk stuff.

Cons

Incredibly boring, absent raises, absent leadership and training. Awful office culture. If you wanna be like the guy from Incredibles in a cubicle all day this is the place.

We strive to provide an engaging and meaningful work environment to our employees, and we are saddened to hear that you did not experience that during your time at Western National.
