Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We appreciate your positive comments about work / life balance, as we know that our employees have personal lives outside of the office. We also are glad to hear that you appreciate our teams, as we truly believe our people are what set us apart from our competitors. We are saddened to read your comments about remote work. We continue to offer flexible, hybrid, and remote work options to a majority of our employees at all office locations (as approved by a manager). The privilege to work remotely is and will remain dependent on the needs of our customers balanced with the needs of our employees and internal teams. We would like the opportunity to hear more about your experience. If you are willing to share, please contact us directly at HRmail@wnins.com.

Pros

Nice office environment, A lot of support and mentoring from team. Work life balance is good.

Cons

Benefits aren't great. Very little opportunities for growth. Management will overwork you for little pay. After a year of working here, I found out I was being underpaid whereas the new UA's hired were making $6k more than me. There's also a lot of office drama that goes on so try to avoid that if you can.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We appreciate hearing your positive comments about the office environment, team support, and work-life balance, as we believe these are three elements that set Western National apart from our peers. Although we appreciate your positive comments, we are disheartened to hear your negative comments about your time working with us. In regard to your comment on wages, we assess our compensation package and internal equity continuously throughout the year to ensure our pay practices are fair and competitive. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, which combined with yearly profit-sharing bonuses and other bonus incentives based on position, creates our total compensation package that our employees receive for their work. We also assess our benefit offerings on an annual basis to ensure that our benefits package remains competitive. We are interested to hear more about the lack of opportunities for growth and the office culture. If you are willing to share, please contact us directly at HRmail@wnins.com.

Pros

Coworkers were good people, ceo was personable

Cons

Not the best place to grow as a developer with tech stack being based on a proprietary programming language. The language in use is java based and used mainly in the insurance. It's difficult to learn, with limited documentation, and there was limited access to subject matter experts. There were required certifications I found to be difficult. The team had good people but the "scrum" structure was really just waterfall with upper management

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We appreciate hearing that you value your co-workers and our CEO. We hear time and time again that the people and culture at our organization are the main reasons that we are a great place to work! We are sorry to hear that you feel you were not able to grow within your position. We are constantly working to improve professional development opportunities for our employees. In 2022, we launched an in-house Learning and Development Team to assist with employee training and onboarding. We are pleased to share that they are actively working on fleshing out and refining our onboarding and training process for all employees in all departments. It is our hope that these efforts will be beneficial for many, including our IT Teams, as we know that our IT processes and procedures are unique to the insurance industry. We are always looking for areas in which we can improve. If you are willing to share more, please contact us directly at HRmail@wnins.com.
