Pros

Laid back mentality (depending on which office though) and a very good work/life balance - they do not work you to death like so many consulting firms. A lot of interesting projects to work on and be exposed to, extremely intelligent scientists and managers, co-workers are all very friendly, some upward mobility depending on your manager. They care about ensuring top talent and will help achieve certifications (LSRP, PG, CHMM, CSP, etc.). Very little micromanaging - unlike so many other firms, there is NOT a pressure to be 100% billable at all times. Managers understand that work comes and goes and as long as you don't take advantage of things, the billable hour goals are generally reasonable (and if you don't reach your goal because you had training or you were working on proposal efforts, they are completely fine with that).

Cons

Seems like the salaries are on the lower end of the industry. The company (corporate) has made some bad financial decisions that are negatively impacting everyone right now. Senior management seems to be dreamers and have their heads in the clouds - they are not making sound decisions and just seem to use "creative" management phrases that don't really mean anything. The retirement package is not great - they match in company stock which is not the smartest idea investment wise. Upward mobility, as with many consulting firms, is tough - you need a good manager willing to stand up for you. Most of the time employees are stuck in roles for many years and never given a true chance to learn and move up (Weston seems to rather hire from outside than promote from within).

Pros

It's extremely satisfying working for a company whose overall focus is to make this world a cleaner, safer, sustainable place. Management is very flexible regarding taking time off and family obligations. The benefits packages are very competitive. Weston is an employee-owned company.

Cons

Because of our size, the average pay is lower than in other larger companies in the area. Some of our departments are small, so it takes longer to get promoted because you have to rely on employee turnover.
