Very safe workplace! Industry leader, innovator, global name recognition. Vast potential in it's resources.

Cons

Use to be fair and equitable treatment company to work for, no longer. Too much emphasis on soft skills and not about getting the work done better and providing excellant customer service. To munch politicing, advancement based on "diversity" instead of merit. Give better direction and communication on where the company is headed over the next few years. Actions speak louder then words, value people for their contributions, not for their socializing abilities. Teamwork is not something you learn in a book but something you attain through life experiences

Weyerhaeuser has some of the best benefits in the industry.

Cons

Watching the company divest business units and employees during economic down times. We've been living with uncertainty for quite some time.

Pros

Always liked the people I worked with. Weyerhaeuser seems to attract good folks that were usually easy to get along with. Compensation was pretty good, as were benefits. Very relaxed work schedule. Treated the community respectfully and has always been helpful when bad things happened (i.e. natural disasters, family crisis, etc.).

Cons

Slow moving. Prefers process to getting work done. Complete disconnect between corporate services and the businesses they support. Company mantra is "Shareholder Value" which gets to be pretty lame when you realize that that really means " do whatever Wall Street says." HR departments that could care less about employees and serve as clubs for management. Promotions are political, not based on merit.
