Pros

Company is financially secure and continues to maintain profitability, in the face of zero lay offs. They are very well rounded and established in the business of CM and GC work. Excellent overall business culture.

Cons

This company does not exist to serve you; you exist to serve the company. Individuals do the work of 2 people all of the time. There is no specialization or high level training that will differ you from anyone else with the same years vested in the company. You learn to do everything, but you will lack the ability in many cases to do everything extremely well. Average work weeks are 50+ and on job site the policy of just get the job done goes to the extreme. Most personnel average 10hr days minimum with project executives still maintaining this level of output after 15-20 yrs with the company. The financial benefits are reserved for long term employees in the form of private company stock. Salaries and compensation are not on par with competition. And they never truly accelerate beyond 2% above inflation. Personal time off is limited to 2wks a year with no carry over. They do attempt to compensate you for the time that you spend on these projects, but that is subject to your managers opinion of you and his willingness to compensate you with flex time(that is not guaranteed). The company has good intentions, but with the current pace of construction and the ever growing demands from personal life and professional responsibilities, employee turnover is not likely to decrease. There is much discontent and unhappiness internally.

Pros

Somehow just about all of the people I encountered are truly great to work with. Chance for promotion - my advice to the young people is to not take it for granted, most other companies do not have the same type of chance for advancement. Benefits such as gas cards, company car, and profit sharing, not to mention the pention plan and stock options.

Cons

Tend to be a little 'behind the times' in the technology field. Some processes feel a little cumbersome due to the size of the company - the processes are necessary, but can be frustrating at times.
