Pros

The one good thing about this place is that there is always work to do. The managers and marketing make sure we keep winning contracts.

Cons

This company consists of 95% white people. You can count the number of non-white people at this company on two hands. All the department heads and corporate managers are white. There were 3 women out of the 30+ office workers in my department. Being in the engineering field, I expected this to be the case. But the combination of this and the current political climate made for a hostile work environment for anyone who wasn't white in my department. There were a handful of white people in my department that acted as if they ran the place. They made all the noise they wanted and disrespected whoever they wanted. I was subjected to even more abuse due to the color of my skin. When I first started, I kept to myself and spoke to everyone with respect, as I was raised to do. Even with that, I would be rudely interrupted by certain people when talking to my supervisor about projects or have certain people yell directly over my desk to talk to someone on the other side. Also, there was one guy in particular that barely spoke to me, the first thing he ever said to me was covertly racist. There were plenty of other unnecessary incidents that proved to me that I wasn't welcome there. The other introverted people in my department, who kept to themselves and did their work like me, were not subjected to this kind of abuse. There was one difference between me and them. They were white. When management and HR is confronted about personnel issues and especially racial issues they will fight you on them and make you feel like you don't know what you're talking about. Or they will act confused, like they don't know what racism is, and make you explain things over and over again until you're tired and want to leave. They will do the bare minimum to get you to shut up about the issues. Or they will laugh in your face when you ask for a highly justified pay and title change. Outside of personnel issues, there is no clear path to advancement. It seems as if they want you to stay in the same position so they can continue to get great work out of you for mediocre pay. If they actually cared about their employees, they wouldn't be losing countless hard-working people to rival companies.
