-There was a previous review in January 2019 about minorities. I too had one negative experience in regards to being a minority. I was extremely upset about it and when I took it to HR I felt attacked. I was given zero sympathy and HR gave me an attitude. I have felt this way at other firms as well and is not unique to WR. Until the engineering field is diverse nationwide with people of color and women, it will always be a "boys club" of all white men anywhere you go. This is very unfortunate.
-New HR is very "in your face." Towards the end I was annoyed about the million changes they were trying to do and all of them being half-assed it seemed. For example, the American Heart Association. They wanted to have all this social media blitz. Well they sent emails the day before late in the afternoon. A few people scrambled to throw something fun together.
-Ideal hours are 42-50 a week.
-I did not like a few of the directors of the departments. One in particular had a bold personality. If you want to talk to him, be prepared to listen to him for one hour rambling and not letting you get a single word in. Was never a dynamic conversation. Another played favorites like I've never seen before. I was at a conference and there was the director, me, a coworker (same position as me), and a person from somewhere else. The director went on and on raving about my coworker while I was standing there like an idiot. I wasn't jealous I just felt like that was rude.
-Work Facebook. What a horrible idea. I guess they want everyone to be distracted.
-Stop placing so much emphasis on licensure. We all understand that it is necessary, but you don't need to remind me every single week during department meetings. I will work on it when I'm ready.
-Career paths were unclear.
-Stop asking me to take pictures. Marketing/HR wanted their Linkedin to be filled with content all the time. If you want pictures of me working or volunteering send a photographer.
