Pros

Wolfe Research provides a great learning opportunity for junior employees. You are provided a lot of responsibilities which allow you to get exposure to almost every department. Wolfe is earning more and more credit and respect around the street.

Cons

You have to be patient for career advancement but good things do come to those who wait , work hard and are aggressive. Be prepared to very work hard, there is often the expectation to go above and beyond what is initially asked of you. Technology and fancy systems are not our strong suit.

Research, if you are really into it.

Cons

Awful work-life balance (i.e., no life at all). Low pay on a 45 hours/w basis. Even lower considering you can end up working 80+ hours a week. Toxic culture. Meaningless work for most of the time. Only suitable for senior researchers.

Pros

Very smart and driven people. Most research focused firm on Wall Street. Compared to the bulge firms less politics and distractions to creating differentiated research

Cons

Not for everyone. If you don't want to work hard and be the best at what you do, you cannot hide out at Wolfe. It seems Management looks for those who can't keep up, and they usually get this right in the five years I have been here so far. The old offices were cramped but the new ones are much better.
