Fear of replacement

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

The firm is earning a reputation in the market

Cons

In this company, you always live with the fear of replacement. If you don't keep up with the high pace set and followed by others, they might replace you. It made me feel insecure, and I had to quit.

Everyone is Under a Lot of Strain

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

The compliance culture was a pro.

Cons

The company is growing at a fast-pace, so everyone is under a lot of strain. Every person and resource is being overstrained. The pressure to work with a team is also too high, and even if you do all the hard work, the team will get the credit. It could be annoying.

Pros

The CEO once said in a firmwide meeting on mentorship that sometimes mentors teach you how not to be - this was true of my experience at Wolfe.

Cons

The firm will lie about opportunities for growth to get you in the door. Once you are in the job they provide no information or structure for advancement, other than a vague “work hard”. Working hard means working 24/7 7 days a week or taking on the responsibilities of 3 separate jobs and only being paid for 1. Associates are given an opportunity to take on coverage that the firm already plans to give over to an analyst they’re hiring externally and then pushed to the side or let go when the new analyst arrives. Associates are often yelled at and berated. The firm does not practice a culture of learning and growing, instead it could be better described as “Kill or be killed”. Work culture is toxic and abusive.
