Pros

Offers a job in an emerging technology though times are tough right now for any high tech company. Living in the triangle is a great benefit because the cost of living is low. Casual dress code and easy commute from most areas of the triangle. Stock options but don't expect to move up in salary.

Cons

Expects 12+ hour days or you are perceived as uncommitted. Not innovative or encouraging when you want to "take a rick" and try something new. If it doesn't work you will be sorry so employees keep their heads down. Employee advancement/development is discouraged because you must be inside the building at all times working hard. Management does not feel like employees are part of the same team. The culture is more like an old time factory than a high tech operation. There is a lot of potential but the vibe is always negative and the corporate culture is that you are easily replaced. Even writing this review makes me nervous about retaliation.

This is a book to be judged by the lowest reviews

Pros

Look at the low reviews- normally I am a Half full kinda person. This is not the case with this company. But, the pros: Fitness center, cafeteria, decent campus, expansion into NY is happening quickly, 401k, health benefits. You can show up, do nothing, and get paid. You can take a nap while getting paid- and not get fired. It is a faux semiconductor company.

Cons

Where to start? Management (ha ha)- unsure of the top 2-3 managers (unless they are wearing blinders). Low level management is worthless- people sleep on the production floor, yet nothing happens to them. Cameras are everywhere and you can see sleepy heads-no repricussions. Managers are afraid to tell the truth, like to blow a lot of smoke, lack structure/guidance/vision. Operated like individual silos. Systems are Disorganized. Safety, 5s, supply, IT are an abomination. Horrible... Horrible communication. Outdated systems. Old toxic mindset ("thats the way its always been", "it ain't broken dont fix it") -I don't believe the majority of the employees have heard of process improvement. Did I say organization? Training doesn't really exist nor are any of the items taught enforced or relied upon (circle back to management?). It is not a semiconductor company/fab. It is a R&D group that is trying to hold onto the market of SiC - but slowly losing its grasp because it isn't implementing tried and true systems. The list goes on and on and on

Still need people leadership work done at Executive level (for some)

Pros

Appears that the semi conductor side of the business is very strong, with lots of potential

Cons

Executive Leadership of Global Operations needs a lot of development of people leadership skills. Still seeing constant moodiness, unwillingness to listen to anyone else’s ideas, massive need to control and approve virtually everything. Does not let the team grow on their own. Very little praise given. Does not share business information. Outwardly displays favorites, which is starting to separate the teams. Blind sides people with “performance issues”, but never mentions anything previous. Appears to be good at the technical aspects of running a factory, but not good at people managing.
