Pros

Have not met one person here who isn't willing to help when and where they can. You never hear, "That's not part of my job" or "I have no idea what you're talking about." Employees here take the time to help you find the people and answers you need to get your job done. There are conscious efforts to make the remote offices feel like they are a part of the "mothership" in Ames. At times there are snafus with meeting times or delays in getting swag, but nothing too critical. The work/life balance is perfect. The company sponsors many work-hours events and employees are encouraged to partake. It is nice to work somewhere where you're encouraged to build relationships outside of your functional teams on company time. "Human Resources" exists by way of an employee-driven community which has produced some of our greatest ways to continue growing the corporate culture into a fun, yet productive environment.

Cons

There are conscious efforts to improve it underway, but the on-boarding process is a little frustrating, especially for remote offices. Between IT issues and delivery times, we find ourselves in Scottsdale waiting an extra day or two for either a new computer or login info for a new employee. We have grown very quickly, very fast so this is the likely culprit.

Pros

Development here is truly agile, each team really owns it own process. There is autonomy such that everyone has a say and entire products can be built from anyone's good ideas. Product teams here are well organized and have clear directions.

Cons

The company is going through growing pains and as such some teams are over managed and some lack leadership.

Pros

This company is incredible. I started at Workiva straight out of college and I could not imagine life at another company. Not only have I been able to grow as a professional, I have also learned an incredible amount about business, our industry and how our software is making a difference. Our culture is one of a software company that is growing and making changes in the industry. We have healthy snacks, free coffee and soda, a game room, free health care and offices in three countries. In addition to all these incredible perks, we also foster a culture of creative freedom. We work hard, but it's because we want to. Anyone at this company is driven to continue the growth and innovation that we have already fostered. We grow as a company through the creativity of our employees and through the ideas of the people we work with day in and day out. The people that we work with side by side are not only our co-workers but friends that we trust and enjoy spending time with. Workiva employees are always up to try new things inside and outside the work place.

Cons

In the area that I work in, you have a huge support group, but you have to be able to manage your own time and work. Being such a flat organization, you have to remember that even if your title doesn't change, your responsibilities, project loads and work do change and people recognize that.
