Pros

Opportunities to learn many aspects of EAP work. Great, helpful colleagues. Wide exposure to lots of clinical issues and incredibly diverse client population. I stayed for many years because I wanted to grow my skills in this particular field, despite the stress. When I left, I found a job with a much healthier environment, better compensation, and where my skills and expertise are appreciated.

Cons

Low pay, high stress (call center - volume of calls valued over clinical intervention) micromanagement, inflexibility re changing shifts, no matter how long you work there. Limited breaks.30 minutes for lunch, 15 minute breaks. You are expected to account for every single minute of your day.
