Pros

My experience at World Vision US was fantastic and I am so grateful for the time there, the team I worked with.

Cons

I had to leave since there was no development pathway. I had been in the same role for quite some time and I was eager to grow professionally. I know that many colleagues were frustrated about this as our preference would had been to stay at WV. With this said, I would still go back to WV if the right role presents itself.

Pros

Several things stick out to me that make World Vision a great employer. 1. The organization's strong mission resonates with people who care and strive to accomplish it, creating a sense of purpose and connection. 2. The ministry provides exceptional benefits. Specifically, I feel World Vision does a solid job with its health and retirement benefits. At a non-profit like World Vision, we don't have things like stock options, but we do have competitive health coverage, and our retirement plan is generous. 3. Leadership at World Vision stands out for its genuine care and dedication to employees, fostering a supportive, flexible work environment. World Vision is forward-thinking in flexible work, allowing for many remote jobs across the U.S. Even with this, they find ways for regional employees to connect online and through events such as picnics and gatherings.

Cons

As is probably true with many non-profit organizations, you have many people strongly dedicated to their work. This can, at times, create a very fast-paced environment with competing demands. Maintaining good work-life balance is critical to remember.
