Pros

Working at World Vision, I know that there is a bigger purpose and reason for why we do what we do. No matter what role you play, it is directly or indirectly connected to the relief work and aid to children and people around the world. - Managers and colleagues care about development & career growth, and champion me to grow and try new things. - Healthy caring culture that uplifts each other. - Good benefits

Cons

- Being a big organization, sometimes there can be slow processes of change. - Everyone is willing to help most of the time, but without role clarity, you can be doing work out-of-scope of your role. - Pay isn't as competitive, but mission is fulfilling for me.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments about our ministry. It’s a blessing to learn that you find your work here meaningful and fulfilling, knowing that what we do individually is making a life-changing impact on the many children and families around the world. Also, it was good to learn about your journey of growth and learning, especially as we strive to encourage the professional, personal, and spiritual development of our staff. We also appreciate your suggestions about managing change and remaining agile. Be assured that we’ve shared your feedback with our People & Culture leadership team. We’re so thankful that you answered God’s call and are using your unique gifts and talents to carry out our bold mission of ending extreme poverty in our lifetime for God’s glory. Thank you, again, for taking a moment to share your heart and advice with us. Ruth Iswariah  Director, People and Culture, Ministry Enablement

Pros

It's an opportunity to use my skills gained in the private sector to help people around the world in Jesus' name. Leadership has made working from home as connected to other people as possible. Work atmosphere is kind and caring. They have an effective system for making and tracking personal and work goals and personal career development. You get to meet and work with people from all over the world.

Cons

It's a large organization and change can come slowly. All the revenue comes from donors and needs to be used correctly so there are not a lot of extra $$ employee perks like fancy Christmas parties or free shirts, etc.
