Pros

You can make 60-70k by doing the most soul destroying work possible.

Cons

I spent just shy of two years in the Cambridge store - I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. Managed by an individual who perfectly perpetrates the company they work for, dishonest, lacklustre and soulless. This is the kind of job I’d urge any young individual to stay as far away from as possible. It opens no doors to any other sales roles - every other future company will assume your leads are handed to you and you’ll have to fight at interview stage to prove your worth. No weekends off, despite what they say. They try and trick you with contracts. Rest of the country gets an increase in minimum wage - not Wren, they’ll figure out a way to ensure you lose. Managed from the top down by plebs. Even the CEO looked like he’d been given a “job for the boys” if you catch my drift (nepotism runs rife). Good luck dealing with crying customers that their doors have expanded after 2 years - I sleep infinitely better now I don’t feel like I coerce people out of their hard earned savings.

Pros

There is potential to earn good commission if you're performing well and the showroom is busy. For motivated individuals, the role can offer solid earning opportunities.

Cons

This review reflects my personal experience as a Sales Designer at Wren Kitchens. Others may have different experiences, but I feel it's important to share mine. During my time at Wren, I encountered a situation where I had a deduction of nearly £400 from my commissions due to a fine. The fine was related to an issue that occurred while I was on annual leave, and both my managers and I believed it had been issued in error. Unfortunately, due to a strict 72-hour appeal window—which had already passed during my time off—the appeal was rejected. Despite explaining the situation and raising concerns, I found it very difficult to get support or further clarification from head office, and the HR response was limited. While I understand the importance of company policies, in this case, the process felt inflexible and left me feeling unsupported. Training and support were inconsistent. While some colleagues were helpful, others were less approachable, which made the learning curve steeper. I also felt that managerial support in terms of product knowledge and day-to-day guidance could have been stronger. There were instances where lead distribution and performance management felt unclear or inconsistent. For example, leads were occasionally reassigned without explanation, and feedback during slow sales periods sometimes felt discouraging rather than constructive. The commission structure also had a high threshold, which meant several sales had to be made before any commission was earned—a factor that could be challenging, especially during quieter periods. The role also involved regular weekend work and two 11-hour shifts each week. The scheduling of these shifts varied weekly, which made it difficult to plan personal time or establish a stable work-life balance. Overall, my experience with Wren Kitchens was inconsistent. While there are certainly employees who thrive there, and some managers who are genuinely supportive, I personally found the working environment, structure, and internal processes didn’t align well with my expectations or needs.

Pros

Decent pay because it is easier to sell kitchens in this company. Quality software and great processes, especially at Sheffield store.

Cons

Designers solely responsible when customers choose a different brand. Miserable briefings on saturdays which is a the most important day of the week and the longest one, but it begins with management tormenting designers in an extreme condescending manner.
